Post Construction Cleaning in Northwest Florida

Construction Dust Goes Everywhere. We Get It Out.

There's a particular frustration at the end of a build or a major renovation. The work is finished — the cabinets are hung, the tile is set, the paint is dry — and the space still doesn't look like the photos. That's usually not a construction problem. It's drywall dust.

Fine gypsum dust behaves unlike ordinary household dirt. It's light enough to stay suspended in the air for days, it settles on horizontal surfaces in a uniform film, it gets pulled into HVAC returns and redistributed every time the system runs, and it smears into a paste when wiped with a wet cloth. Then there's everything else a job site leaves behind: paint overspray on glass and hardware, adhesive residue, caulk smears, drywall mud in floor joints, sawdust in cabinet interiors, protective film on new fixtures, and stickers on every appliance.

Coast to Coast Professional Cleaning performs post construction cleans for builders, general contractors, remodelers, and homeowners across Northwest Florida from Pensacola to Destin. We work the sequence that actually removes dust — HEPA extraction first, dry methods before wet, top to bottom, and staged passes so we're never redistributing what we just cleared onto finished surfaces.

Our larger construction projects are typically paired with pressure washing for the exterior — driveways, sidewalks, and concrete that collects mud, mortar, and job-site staining during the build.

Post Construction FAQs

Questions From Builders and Homeowners

The things that come up most when scheduling a construction cleanup.

What is post construction cleaning and why is it different?
Post construction cleaning is the specialized cleanup that happens after building or renovation work is finished, and it is genuinely different from any other cleaning service. Construction generates a specific kind of mess: fine drywall dust that settles into every crevice and re-suspends when disturbed, adhesive and paint overspray on glass and fixtures, caulk smears, drywall mud, sawdust in floor joints, stickers and protective film on new fixtures, and debris that has to be hauled out. Ordinary cleaning products smear drywall dust rather than removing it, and standard vacuums clog and then blow it back into the air. Post construction cleaning uses the right tools and sequence: HEPA extraction, microfiber rather than cotton, staged passes so dust doesn't get redistributed onto already-clean surfaces, and detail work on every fixture and pane.
How many times does a post construction clean need to be done?
Professionally, it's normally a two-stage process. The first pass — often called the rough clean — happens after the heavy trades have finished but before final touch-ups and punch-list work. That pass clears debris, removes protective film, and gets the bulk of the dust out. The second pass, the final or detail clean, happens after all trades have left for good. That's when we do the detail work: inside cabinets and drawers, inside appliances, every pane of glass, light fixtures, vents, and baseboards. Doing a detail clean too early is the most common mistake, because the next trade through the door reintroduces dust and undoes the work. We'll tell you honestly which stage your project is ready for.
Do you work with builders and general contractors?
Yes — builders, general contractors, and remodelers are a large share of our post construction work across Northwest Florida. We understand construction timelines run long and schedules shift, so we're set up to be responsive when a project's final date moves. We can quote from plans or a walkthrough, coordinate directly with your site superintendent, work around punch-list crews, and provide a Certificate of Insurance for your files. If you're running multiple projects along the Emerald Coast, we can handle recurring final cleans as a standing account rather than one-off bookings.
Will you remove construction debris and leftover materials?
We remove the light construction debris that a cleaning service is equipped to handle — leftover packaging, protective film, masking tape, drywall scraps and offcuts, caulk and adhesive tubes, and general job-site litter. What we don't do is structural demolition debris, heavy material hauling, or roll-off container service. If your project has pallets of leftover tile, scrap lumber, or discarded fixtures, that's a hauling job and we'll say so plainly rather than quote you for something outside our scope. Many builders pair our final clean with their own debris container pickup, and that combination works well.
How soon after construction can you clean?
The final clean should happen after all trades have finished and the punch list is closed — not before. If painters, flooring installers, or finish carpenters are still scheduled, a clean done today will need to be redone. We normally recommend booking two to four days after the last trade leaves, which gives caulk time to cure and lets some airborne dust settle rather than resettling onto surfaces we've just finished. In practice, we schedule the date in advance and confirm with the site superintendent a day or two out, because construction timelines rarely hold perfectly.
